  1. Material:
    A. Aluminum - Leaf - Temper, H24 or H34 half hard, per QQ-A-250/8. Aluminum - Pin - Temper, half hard, per QQ-A-225/7.
    B. Brass - Leaf - Alloy 268, temper half hard, per QQ-B-613. Copper-Pin-Alloy 260, temper half hard per QQ-W-321.
    C. Corrosion Resisting Steel - Leaf - Class 301, 302 or 304, Condition A, temper annealed, per QQ-S-766. Corrosion Resisting Steel - Pin - Form 1, Condition B, per QQ-W-423.
    D. Carbon Steel - Leaf - Cold-rolled, temper No. 4, per QQ-S-698. Carbon Steel - Pin - Composition 1010, 1020 per QQ-W-461.
    E. Carbon Steel - Leaf - Cold-rolled, temper No, 4, per QQ-S-698. Copper-Pin-Alloy 260, temper half hard, per QQ-W-321
  2. Finish:
    Materials A, B, C, and D shall be plain (uncoated). Materials D when specified, shall be zinc plated type II, Class 2 of QQ-Z-325 or Cadmium plated type II, Class 1 of QQ P-416. Materials E shall be cadmium plated type II, Class 1 of QQ-p-416.
  3. Dimensions:
    All dimensions are in inches unless otherwise specified.
  4. Part Number:
    The MS part number consists of the MS number plus the dash number followed by the applicable letter for material. When protective finish is required for materials "D", add F to the dash number. Example: MS35825-12DF.
  5. End knuckles shall be a minimum 1/2 of knuckle.
  6. Cumulative tolerance on pitch is K015 in any 36 inch segment.
  7. Hinges shall be stocked and issued in lengths of 72.00 & 84.00 inches. Application may be of any length within the length.
  8. For design feature purposes, this standard takes precedence over procurement documents referenced herein.
  9. Reference documents shall be of the issue in effect on date of invitations for bid.
